Description
The 2022 Mazzini Pinot Noir was crafted from hand harvested fruit from the single vineyard of Rowsley Fault in the Moorabool Valley, grown in the Geelong wine region. This wine was fermented using wild yeast with the addition of 10% whole bunches, and then matured in new and used French oak prior to bottling.
Don’t take our word for it…
James Halliday Wine Companion– 2021 Mazzini Pinot Noir – 93 points
Wild-yeast ferment, 10% whole bunches, matured in new and seasoned French oak. Shimmering in the glass in black cherry-purple hues. Strikes an immediate fresh and elegant poise in aromas of red cherry, raspberry, cranberry fruits with peppery spice. Firm and dry with a juicy acid crunch, it is fleshed out nicely in red berries, rhubarb earthiness, peppercorn and well-judged oak. Jeni Port

“I liked it straight off, which is always a good sign. Plum and rhubarb, liquorice root, some dried flowers and spice. Medium-bodied, a quiet earthiness with a stony feel to tannin, good grip, fresh too, with a good finish falling more to red fruit, but with some savoury sun dried tomato tang. It’s the best Pinot I’ve tried from Mazzini, I’d say”
