The 2020 Mazzini Chardonnay was crafted from hand harvested fruit grown on the Yan Yan Gurt vineyard, Birregurra in the Geelong wine region. This wine from the Otway ranges was whole bunch pressed to French oak, then fermented using wild yeast and matured for 9 months prior to bottling.
Don’t take our word for it…
Gary Walsh from The Wine Front – 2020 Chardonnay 89 Points
“Golden colour. Butter menthol, peach, cedar and assorted lactic and yeasty smells. It’s rich, buttery, slick in texture, with lots of non-fruit flavours, as such. It does have a solid core of acidity to go with it, and a silky oatmeal and butter finish of good length. You have to like a certain style, and in this case, very Geelong Old Skool, you might call it, but a decent wine in its own way.”
